Lets see your aftermarket lights.

Im looking at putting aux lighting on my blazer and want to see what everyone else has so I can decide what I think looks best. Im looking for pictures of roof mounted lights, bumper mounts w/ and w/o brush/bull gaurds and whatever else somone has come up with. Also looking to see if anyone has rear facing lights.

I know Thog has a roof light bar so maybe he will post a picture in here soon.

And I think litterbug has rear facing lights on his. Hopefully he will post in here soon as well.

Here's another with a brushguard and lights

The day of course. :p

Rottidog 12-22-2011 10:22 PM

LOL the day. If that were true I'd be calling you while I'm at work to help save MY DAY lol.
You have a lot of lights for sure, so does John (giovanni) I only have a few... but it's not a pissing contest, it's to show what blazers look like with aftermarket lights.
I'm not too sure of this but he has a ZR2, they weren't made in '95, were they?
You're just trying to show off & "save the day" lmao... but the '95 looks damn good I must say!

On topic I have a set of Bully hitch mount reverse lights installed, 3 way switch on/reverse/off. They're good, light up fairly well, great for hooking up to a trailer, but they come to a point together 20' or so behind the truck. Not enough spread for my needs/likes - off road illumination spread, backing up in a parking lot. I have LED reverse lights, enough for people to see me but not enough for me to see what's behind me, but really do work well & are good quality.

Thogert 12-22-2011 10:26 PM

I'm glad it isn't a contest, yours would destroy mine any day of the week. I'm always jelous of your ride when I see your sig.

nepa zr2 12-22-2011 11:34 PM

For those roof mounting, Did you notice a big mpg change?

Irocz327 12-22-2011 11:49 PM

I didn't notice much differance in my mpg...

bowshooter1 12-22-2011 11:55 PM

i didnt notice any change

Thogert 12-23-2011 12:22 AM

My mpg is so bad I don't like to check it anymore. But no, I didn't notice any difference either.

tibby 12-23-2011 02:13 AM

.

Dang, easy with the hostility in here. I could break the tension with a butter knife :). But the bad part is, I don't have any roof lights and my mpg is probably the same as thog's lol. But actually, the closest thing they made to a zr2 back then when my truck was built was the z85 I guess which is what I gotz. The z85 is heavy duty suspension package which means increased cargo capacity in the rear. (no pun intended).

But back on topic, what kind of lights are you thinking about op? Any thoughts or suggestions?

You like 'em square or circular?
I wish I had roof lights like thog's and back up lights like gio's. Dang they are both extremely bright!

redneck44244 12-23-2011 08:24 AM

2 Attachment(s)
the lights on the roof look smaller than what they are haha, and even with my roof rack i didnt notice any change in mpgs.

bowshooter1 12-23-2011 09:07 AM

i personally think the square ones look better and i think it looks better with only 2 or 3 cuz i dont like it to look like im trying to hard with my roof lights. mine are pretty bright for just 2 55 watt autozone lights. ive been debating going to circular but i just think that they will stand out to much on the roof.
by the way is the z85 package a special thing that not many have cuz i got the z85 package too and i was just wondering. my stock height blazer always has sat about an inch and a half talller than other stock height blazers.

Yeah, I'm not sure how many came with the z85 package, but I don't think there is a lot of them left. Just like the g80 locker, there aren't too many of those around here I don't think. And I didn't think the z85 package made the blaze sit any higher, but I have nothing to compare mine to so mine might very well sit up a little higher.

bowshooter1 12-24-2011 11:58 AM

oh ok thanks makes me feel like my blazer is just a little bit special now lol and i just compared it to a couple four door blazers at school they are a litle bit lower than mine i havent looked but they might be 2wd that might be why they are a little bit lower than mine

Great serious look there dave!
Smoked out signals are awsome & the euro look LED's under the head lights adds to it.

davtak 12-25-2011 07:15 PM

Thanks Rottidog, they look even better at night. I have them wired into a switch panel i made out of plexiglass and carbon fiber in place of the cd holder. And Kiwi, what ever came of your led project?

kiwiblazer 12-26-2011 12:26 AM

Howdy! This one?

Thanks Tibby! I do love my lights lol. In the spring I plan on removing that ugly baby s*** green bumper that matches NOTHING else on the truck and replace it with an all black bumper from a LS i believe it is, and probably add some lights to it lol. I still have to install my roof bar which i might take apart and mount the lights to the roof rack. And Kiwi, didn't you have led strips around your headlights too? I remember you showed me a pic one time, or did you scrap that idea?

kiwiblazer 12-26-2011 07:44 PM

I imported a new set of headlights with the halo's on both the low & high beams. Just felt that with the LED's around it, it was too much!

Murphy Mumgart 12-27-2011 02:33 AM

Got these off of Ebay and had them installed today.

Nice looking setups everyone, Does anyone have pictures of where they put the switches?

kiwiblazer 12-27-2011 01:52 PM

Was easy with the RHD truck. Just modded the light switch.

See also my "how to" in my signature.

IanD 12-28-2011 08:00 PM

@Rottidog

Where did you get your bull bar / grille guard?!

I have been looking all over for it and I can't find it!

Rottidog 12-28-2011 08:58 PM

JC Whitney I think, it was awhile ago. It's nice, looks good & can handle streblo's ZR2 backing into my blazer lol but it mounts to the bumper. I thought by the pics in the ad it was a frame mount, NOT! But it does mount right at the frame ends, so it is strong & holds the Piaa 520i fog lights withought clearence issues. Most bull bars won't fit a 6" diameter light, which is why I got a grille guard.

Thogert 12-29-2011 12:14 PM

Ok sorry it took so long.
http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...5177773496.jpg
^Those are for the roof lights.
http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...5177753316.jpg
^And that one is for the fogs. They don't look great, but it's temporary until I get new switches.
