Default Light for the Rear

I know this probably sounds crazy and I've personally never seen it done but was wondering if this would be possible. Is it possible to add more light to my rear end? Be it more powerful tail lights or even a light bar mounted to my bumper.

Now for the explanation... I go onto a lot of old mining and logging roads that have been abandoned for decades and usually they are wide enough for me to go in, but not to turn around. Added into this is that I love to do this at night, just adds a creepy element to the woods. However on more then one occasion I've found myself having to drive backwards down the trail virtually blind. Each time I would have my friend act as a spotter behind me, but would not like to rely fully on someone else. So instead I'd like to put a bright light somewhere on the rear so I can see where I'm going and see the details of the trail behind me (ruts, bridges, cliffs, running water...). I'm thinking the bumper would be best so that the ground would be illuminated and I'll be able to see the details of the surface much better.

I screwed some little LED pods to the bottom of my rear bumper. Grounded onto the bumper itself and the + wire runs up into the cab in the back through a factory grommet and they're just tied into the OEM reverse light wiring. Have had people tell me they look bright, I honestly don't see that they help much...

With my aftermarket lights I had some LED bulb replacements in the factory sockets and THOSE lights were no joke. They were like having a set of fog lights mounted back there.

Adding anything more than some small LED pods like the ones in the first photo are going to need a relay harness wired up to power them, relay just triggered off the factory reverse light wiring. When I put my roof rack back on I plan to have a small 24" bar facing rearwards on it triggered by either the reverse light signal or manually via a switch in the cab.

Plenty out there from the aftermarket for what you are wanting. If you have a trailer plug, some even are a simple plug and play.

I do have a trailer plug. Do you happen to have a link to a light that can plug into that?

I had a pair of flood lights attached to a 3 way switch so I could turn them off, turn them on at any time, (good for camping or general lighting from the rear) and turn have them turn on with the reverse lights.
