So you're having weird problems that involve your brake lights, lift gate, lift glass, CHMSL, rear dome light, etc. Assuming you've done all of your circuit tests and have determined that there is an open/short somewhere between the fuse block and the back of your truck, you might want to start by looking under the carpet where the driver rests his right heel.
I found this just by chance as I've been nit-picking at my truck fixing body rust issues and some interior repairs/improvements. The hole in the first and second pic is right where you rest your right heel while driving. I don't have any of the above mentioned issues and wasn't looking for a circuit problem (I'm fixing body seam issues here in the rust belt). The carpet is in reasonable shape for being a 25 year old truck. There are no holes in the carpet and I also use a thick rubber floor mat.
The wires you see run in a channel covered with black plastic off-center (leans towards driver side of center-line)all the way to the back of the truck under the carpet. The third pic shows the wire connectors and branch off to the lighting, CHMSL, etc under the carpet and the plastic trim piece (note: great test location for circuit testing).
Obviously I'm going to repair the hole under the heel location as a preventative measure. I've personally never experienced someone having a circuit problem in this location. But next time you're pulling off interior trim panels you may also want to take a look under your driver's side carpet.
P.S. The washer tube for your rear window washer also runs in this channel.
