Default more juice?

i use a small portable air compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter to put air in my mountain bike tires. it works fine.. i have a small battery charger that plugs into a regular house outlet. it's 6 and 12 volt with 1.5 amp output. i tried connecting the jumpers from the charger to the cigarette input plug on the compresser pluged it in . when i put the vale on the bike tire the compressor puped out and couldn't inflate the tire. why doesn't this work?

It's very possible that the batt. charger just dosn't have the amperage nessesary to run the compressor.

^^^ True.

Or you could have hooked up the "leads" wrong and popped the fuse on the compressor...they are usually located in the end of the cigarette lighter adapter. Plug it back in to the cigarette lighter in the car and see if the pump still works....if not replace the fuse...also look at the amperage of the fuse if it is greater than 10% of the actual output of the charger it will not run the compressor very well if at all.
