Battery light went on yesterday so I checked the belt and it was still on and the battery showed a little more than 12 volts with engine off. Later went for a ride and it just quit , no juice, but the rear wiper was running without the switch on even with the key off.
Now its sitting in my garage making a clicking sound from under the passenger dash , like morse code. Battery is way dead .

 

Alternator probably so have it tested.

 

Yep, I would definitely check the alternator... 99% that's it!

 

Thats what I thought , but what about all that demonic possesion stuff going on under the dash ?

Some electronics need a little power to stay of so if the power gets lower then that they will get a bit freaky. Let an 88-94 full size run the battery down with the radio. Once the radio cuts off on its own the blower fan will come on for no reason at all.

 

chevylane , I see what you mean.
I replaced the alternator today and drove a couple miles and juiced her back up and the erratic behavior ceased , including the rear wiper having a seizure with the switch off.

when my 87's battery was almosted dead it locked an unlocked the doors about 8 times. It was friecky till i figured it out.

Aint that weird ? I've had many cars and a low battery has never acted like that before.
