Default mouting cb....but where?

So i have a cobra 18WXSTII and i was thinking of mounting it right under my pioneer head unit. I have a 95 s10 blazer if that helps. it would be kind of a tight fit but i think i could come up with something. My question is would it get to hot with them being so close? would that be bad? And if that doesnt work where else should i mount it? The other spot I'm thinking is on top of the dash in the center. Thanks again guys.

I have mine where the tape player should be but I guess you don't have that... you could mount it in where the ash tray should be

What about down on the center console, all the way forward underneath the dash? I was thinking about getting a CB and that's where I plan on mounting it if I ever end up buying one.

I really don't think that the heat would be an issue between the two if you did decide to mount it in the dash. I guess I'm not sure, but I've never know my radio to heat up much but don't quote me on that lol!

Good luck, and of course, take pics of the project and don't be afraid to share 'em!

I'm glad to this got brought up. I bought a CB about a month back and haven't gotten around to installing it yet. I was thinking right under the dash would be the best spot for it.

Do most people hardwire these in? I was thinking of doing the lazy mans way of just setting up an accessory plug for it. Whats the best place to mount the antenna too?

I don't mean to hijack the thread, just add onto the discussion!
