OBD1 Help
So I bought an OBD2 scanner, and an adapter to plug into my '92 Blazer. However when i plugged everything in, the scanner didnt power on. Is there a common issue here??

Could be a blown fuse. Usually, the dome light is on the same one. Maybe the 12V outlet/lighter, too.

I bought a fuse kit and just started replacing all the bad fuses, so I wouldn't think it's that. Although my radio suddenly doesn't work either

If you have a 12-pin connector, you'll have to supply external power. If it's an 18-pin, use a voltmeter to check the B+ terminal for voltage.

So, I'm getting power to the connector, around 11v, but it's not turning on the scanner

The OBD2 systems supply power to the reader - OBD1 does not
Most code readers need a external power supply as in battery's for OBD1 Mine reader has too have 3 AA battery's added for OBD1 |

****. I don't think my reader has the option for batteries Edit: I do not have a way to add batteries 😫 |
Well darn - with my reader the battery's are added in the pig tail for OBD1.

Well. Atleast I've got a reader now and I can take the adapter to autozone
|
Both of my ancient OBD1 readers have a separate cord that plugs into the cigarette lighter.
