Default Please help with radio problem

Good day and thank you for reading. I have a 2004 Blazer. I installed another stereo in it several years ago and it worked great. I was running my vehicle two days ago, enjoying a cd and it was awesome. I went out yesterday and NO sound on the radio, the cd player, MP3. NOTHING. Thinking it might be the stereo, I took it out and installed another one and yes still no sound. The harness seems ok. Any ideas?? I am at my witts end. Thank you. Dave from Nova Scotia, Canada

Did the stereo turn off? Or just no sound anymore?

the first thing i would do is make sure any fuses to the radio or in the radio havent gone bad. does your radio stay on the entire time or even come on?

To answer both, the radio was working great. I got home, shut the truck down and the next day I went out and started the truck. Turned on my radio and it came on, showed the radio station. No sound. Went to cd and put one in and it showed that it was playing and still no sound. Now as I said earlier I even swapped out my radio for another one that was in my wife's van, that worked as well. Still no sound.

That is odd. I'd try resetting the radio just for kicks (that's what fixed my issue in my cobalt) and if that doesn't work, take a look at the harness.

It must be the harness because it happens with both radios. I checked the connections on all 4 speakers and all are tight. I checked the top part of the harness where it goes into the radio. Seems ok. No burning smell. It looks like I am just going to have to go without a radio. Life goes on. Unfortunately I cannot afford to have anyone look at it so it will be quiet rides from now on. Thanks to all

Have you tried leaving the power hooked to the radio and just attaching a couple speakers to it to see if it works. If that works, then just replace the harness...

I'd use a multimeter to see if you are getting signal to the speakers
