Default Problems with my 2001 Blazer

So I recently bought a used blazer. And im looking for some advise online to minimize my costs at the mechanics. It has very minimal mechanical problems compared to the others ive checked so far. It needs allignment, front axle bushing replacements and air filtration(when the car turns on sometimes u need to give it some gas or else it turns off) and that part of the smog failed it, the rest were good as the smog guy said. But it has a lot of small cosmetic problems here and there.
One problem is the transmission indicator. The transmission has no problems because it was replaced recently before sold to me. When im in gear, it sometimes shows that I'm in neutral or in Reverse and thats very distracting sometimes since its a first car and im new with the blazers style. And also sometimes the break light stays on even the parking brake is fully up.
What could be the cause, is it too much of a headache to fix by myself?
