Default Rear hutch won't open

Yesterday I went to throw out some trash as I usually do. Hatch opened just fine... Later in the eve I went to open the hatch glass & the actuator sounded different & wouldn't release the latch to open. Now I have to climb through the back to get stuff in or out. Frustrating... If I can get the glass to release & open I can diagnose from there. How do I get the glass open from inside or out? Thanks in advance.

I had to break the rear panel off to gain access to the rear window latch. Thanks for the link. The little blue thing is exactly what I need.

Now the damn transfer case went out last week too. WTF!!!

I noticed if I dont put the shift lever all the way up my hatch wont open. I think my linkage is going out cause sometimes it wont go all the way up in park and it rolls around so I get back in and have to jam it in park a few times.
