Default Replacement alternator

My alternator died today,as I was looking at my options on various websites.I found an ac delco 145 amp. I was looking to go with a little more output, but the case is bigger.5 and three quarters vs. Stock 5 and three eights. Will this model bolt up without any mods. From searching on the forum,I may have to use a longer belt.is this true? Thanx in advance for any help to insure I do this project right.

If you've got a 2nd gen S or T body, I think the belt is the only thing different.

Better check with your local parts store for the number.
