Default Security/rear hatch

I have a 2000 blazer LS, the issue I’m having is when the ignition is off my security alarm and light keep going off and my rear hatch keeps opening on its own, even if I open up the rear hatch the power lock keeps trying to open. When I turn the ignition not turning on the truck it all stops. Then when I try to start the truck there’s no power. Could this be a problem with the battery? The security light kinda dims out or it will blink really quick and sometimes blink real slow. Not sure what to do at this point. I tried waiting 10 minutes for the default security lockout but that also didn’t work. I tried taking the fuse out for the power locks but it still unlocks the rear hatch.

Sounds like you got a short in your wires... have you tried unplugging the rear latch to see if it stops? Or maybe the button to the rear latch. By disconnecting these plugs, could cut the power through the wire, and therefore pinpoint your short.

No electrician but that's what sounds like would work for me lol...

Someone else will chime in I'm sure with more logic

i’ll give it a try see what happens, I was just fiddling around and used the power locks to unlock all doors, got out of the truck and manually locked them with my key, made sure the hatch was closed and haven’t heard the alarm since. Truck still won’t start though I fear that the security alarm has been going off for the past 3 days and drained the battery
