Short in wiring?

Default Short in wiring?

Recently my brake lights decided to stop working checked bulbs dbl checked fuses, replaced brakelight switch and now when i turn on running lights or head lights the brake lights comeon also except for the center mounted one, so im wondering where in the world I could have this short at, any ideas?

You might need to adjust the switch.

Sure you got the right brake lights switch????

Also, might check the tab that actually pushes on the switch it self....it might not be making contact with the tab and opening (turning off the brake lights) the switch like it should.

Do you have an VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) or test light?

Yes I got the right one, i havent checked the tab but i will when the weather clears up again, (im doing all this work in my driveway while it's still winter) and yes I do.

Sounds similar to what happened to me, try checking the harness itself and see if anything is bad

when u turn on the headlights, the brake lights SHOULD light up, just not as bright as when you hit the brakes.

Alright, well then..
Any ideas as to what might be goin on anyone?

ah well ill have to wait for this freezing rain to stop so i can check that out, not having a garage is a pain in my ace.

Bump they started working for a while and they just cut out again today. Where can I find the harness leading up to the lights?
