Default So, I want Projectors.

Right now I have a 10000K HID kit for the 9006 (HB4) bulb in the the stock headlight housing (I know, I'm a horrible person lol) but I do want projectors. I did some research and the process of retrofitting the stock housing is just something I'd rather not go through. Are the projector headlights from Ebay really "that terrible" or are there actually some that work? I would like to have the black ones though.

I would NOT get the "projectors" from ebay. They are just horrible, the light output is terrible. You can get them, and retrofit a good set of projectors in them.
But really. If you want to get them to use them as projectors, they are junk.

So the cheapest route would be buy a "affordable" pair off of ebay and just swap the projectors for good ones?

Well cheapest no, but best option yes. The ebay ones really suck, the light output is just horrible, You are better off running your HID's in the stock housing than you are running them in the ebay projectors.

what options are there to install projector HIDs into Blazers? I see the results of what people have done, very impressive, but i'm going to be honest, I don't have time, patience, or skills to pull that kind of a project off. most of the us distributors are selling the Chinese/eBay ones it seems. kind of a hijack...sorry.

The problem with projectors are they are designed to focus the light into a long narrow pattern. That's fine with a spot light but headlights need to be a wide flood pattern. The projectors on fleabay are also halogen bulb lens and do not work and are not designed to work with the arc type pattern of a hid.

If ya aint gonna retrofit it right do all the rest of us a favor on the road that do not enjoy being blinded and don't do it at all. It doesn't matter how cool you look or how well you can see when you have some poor blinded sap rammed into your nose.

I think I'm going to buy the projector headlights off of Ebay and swap the actual lens out for a good lens. But how difficult would this be?

There is a write-up on S-10 forum

Project projector... (HID) - S-10 Forum

Wrong headlight style, but I'm sure it'll give you a good idea.
