Unreliable Key Fob
Ive got a key for that only sometimes works straight away and the rest of the time it can take me a few mins to get the alarm of using it. I was going to replace the battery but i know sometimes when you replace them on different vehicles you have to get the fob reprogramed. Is this the case with these or is there a certain way of doing it with a blazer.
Where is the sensor on them that works with the fob. I dont want to change battery and find out that ive done it wrong. Its on 2001 UK Blazer.

you hold the unlock and lock for 7 seconds. or something like that. pretty much hold it untill it locks and unlocks. also before you do a new battery take it apart. you can leave the battery in it. and take some rubbing alchohol to it. just rub the side that the buttons pretty and the lil rubber button pad on the back side. there should be black or gray dots on the back of each button. clean them off. and try that first. had to do it with mine and now it works the first time every time.
be carefull changing batteries if you have a cr2032 bat that is held down directly to the pc board in the fob. i have seen these have problems with intermittent working cause the bat clip is only soldered down in three places and those places both hold it down an complete the cuicut. over time they start to pull off. simple to fix just need to heat it up with a solder iron. this should help it. i worked for the shack and fixed many of them over my time working there. if you need more help let me know.
