where can i get an HID conversion kit for an 85

Default where can i get an HID conversion kit for an 85

cant find an HID conversion kit for an 85 k5... any ideas??

You have to get aftermarket housings that support a separate bulb; typically an h3 or h4 bulb. I believe that the 85 stacked headlights have a 165mm (4x6) rectangular sealed beam headlight. LMC Truck has these housings available under PN 36-0283 (upper) & PN 36-0284 (lower). You would then have to buy a HID kit with the proper bulbs for each of the housings. There are other online sources as well, but I had the LMC link handy.

Oh dang i didnt know it was two separate things. What kind of hid kit would i need or where would i find the appropriate one?

To do it right you're going to want to add these.

Check out skinny boy lighting. These are the real deal not ebay style housings that will have gaps in the projector. I have some ebay lights in my 91 Camaro for right now to get me by until I can afford a set of lights from this guy. He offers full kits that are high and low beam in one bulb for the 4"x6" lights. I plan to get a set for my 81 k5 as well when the time comes. He also offers some really cool custom options too.
