Seems like a bandaid with potentially hazardous outcomes over time. Since this is a well known problem with documented procedures (here and elsewhere) on how to properly repair it, why bandaid it? You're just adding more failure points.

What he said!
Since the problem already can usually be fixed for less than $20 but end up with same as new, then why bother?!!
On the other hand if the problem is with the MFS also being damaged ... which it sometimes is.. it's only a matter of time till that wouldnt work either.
I would think the best application for that fix, without diving deep into the electronics, would be to address proper timing function of low current - LED- brake and turn lighting without adding resistors.

i agree with swart. plus isnt hazzards required for a safety inspection to pass
