wont start when damp
Year, make, model & engine is helpful
If 96 or newer, common problem is distributor cap, rotor, and wires. Cap & rotor need to be AC Delco. Wires just need to be a good quality name brand, Belden, AC Delco, Autolite etc. NOT a store brand like "Duralast" etc.

Start it up in the dark with the hood open (and hood light off). Look for arcing from the wires and/or coil(s). If there's no obvious arcing replace the cap & rotor with genuine Delco parts as Captain Hook said.
I saw a '99 once that was arcing straight off the top of the coil. It was pretty impressive, but like yours it only did it when it was damp.
