SO I took a ride with a buddy that I havent really seen since HS. He has a mildly modified 06 gto with the ls2..... I can honestly say its the quickest car I have been in.... I was pulled my *** back into the seat and he hit 100mph in less than 2-3/10ths of a mile... It was a good day catching up...

but....

It made me kinda angry with my blazer, that it aint that quick , so I have been looking at gto's....

I hate you. lol
I would love to have a GTO. I don't care what the critics say, I think the last GTO was sharp.

I hate him.....

I have been looking... and to be honest... if its a "brazen orange" the fiancee wont even flinch if I take out a loan, but she doesn't know that it will probably end up a 6 speed car... lol...

I am applying for a few scholarships, and one of them is a bit excessive, and would either fund a future house down payment or car....

GTOs are really quick. my brother has an 04 bright yellow with a 6 speed. He then took and swapped in the cast iron LS block, bored it out to 6.7 liters and is putting down 550 hp at the wheels, 542 ft lbs of torque.. its sick....

They look too much like a 2 door Pontiac Grand Prix if you leave them completely stock imo, i agree with you on the "metro" aspect... But when it looks like this

That is honestly my brother's summer ride. He lives in VA and works for Oracle in their security division

I like the old ones more, too. But they also cost more. Much, Much more.
Funny thing is, the '04-06 GTO is based on a car that was designed back in 1999!

I actually bought the blazer to keep myself from looking into the '06 GTO on one of the local lots. It was the color, engine, tranny, and interrior combo I wanted. The only thing keeping it from being my perfect GTO was no moonroof. My buddy kept on trying to talk me into "Just take it for a test drive" but I know if I had that would be the end of story and Id own it. Then I'd be making payments on a car with slightly higher miles and no where near the practicality of my paid for blazer.
