Default 1989 ford tempo

Hey guys I just recently bought a 89 ford tempo, 39k miles, been sitting for 15 years in a garage. When me and my dad went out to look at it we put jumper cables on it and when we would try to start it it wouldn't crank or anything no clicking nothing, the lights and all electronics were coming on though. I was just wondering what it could be... maybe the starter? Any suggestions? I got it for 250 and I got it cause I need something better on gas for my job/commute to school.

Could just be REALLY dead. When we went to get my GFs 96 TL I had to sit in the truck with jumper cables attached and keep RPM up to it would charge quicker. After about 5 mins it finally slowly turned over a few times really slowly. Took the cables off. Let it sit and put them back on and it fired right up. It had seized back brakes but getting out of the loose gravel and onto pavement loosened them up lol Try a different battery?

yeah put a different battery in it, check all the connections at the starter and battery. the starter could be rusted on the inside for sitting so long.
