Nice! These things definitely have a way of occupying the mind and time...
One of the things that lead me to that page is a mind numbing protocol on my Wife's 05 Mountaineer called UBP (Uart Based Protocol).. The only interface I have found so far that can talk to certain modules is a VCM2 with Ford IDS software.
I don't know all of the internal workings of the VCM2 or IDS, but I am hoping to find some useful info that may allow me to use an Arduino to do this..And there is definitely some learning along the way.
