For any and all like minded Geeks out here...

I happen to have 2 bad habits(many more actually)..But these 2 are Raspberry Pi's and Arduino's..I have a stack of each. In my quest to find more info about the OBDII inner-workings and various protocols , I managed upon this site. So, thought I would share...

Pretty cool article! Definitely interesting.

I recently developed a very similar habit....


I'm kinda a newbie to this type of stuff, but I'm enjoying it and learning a bunch so far.

Nice! These things definitely have a way of occupying the mind and time...

One of the things that lead me to that page is a mind numbing protocol on my Wife's 05 Mountaineer called UBP (Uart Based Protocol).. The only interface I have found so far that can talk to certain modules is a VCM2 with Ford IDS software.

I don't know all of the internal workings of the VCM2 or IDS, but I am hoping to find some useful info that may allow me to use an Arduino to do this..And there is definitely some learning along the way.
