I use gmail, it filters that stuff automaticaly so I would have never seen it.

 

What was the username associated with that email that was sent to you? It should be in the subject line or somewhere in the header.

I will reiterate that your email address was not compromised. They used the fact that you allow other members to email you. Any member can email you if you have the option activated in your profile. Using that functionality only gives them a form which can be used to send you emails, not your actual email address. A long while ago when we had a rash of these emails, I recommended everyone turn off that option in your profile.
