Default Anyone into shortwave radio?

I was just wondering. I have been for 33 years. Have a grundig Satellit 500.

I always posted about the blazer, never thought to ask this question...

there is another member on here , from Canada-actually, i think he's from Ontario.

i think his screen name is............mr.vls.

time to search......................still looking..............

ok, so it wasn't mr.vls. i shoulda known his screen name had the VE3 of a call sign.

it was ve3nsv. but i noticed he hasn't been around since Dec 30th.

could send him a pm. never know, maybe you've talked to him on the air already.

I'm thinking of getting into the amature radio stuff myself. We will see though since you have to be licensed for it.

As luck would have it I'm here. I believe there are also a few other licenced hams here on this board.

I've been into SWL off and on for a few years, but a lot of the stations I used to listen to are no longer on the air. I have an Icom R-75 receiver. I also use CB on occasion, but spend most of my air time on the amateur bands. I hold an Amateur Extra Class license.

Very nice Grundig. I have a (Grundig) S350 for portable/emergency use, but it rarely gets used. I picked up a Pro-2096 about 6 years ago when the local police/fire agencies went from basic analog over to trunked & digital operation. It won't be long until the rebanding of VHF/UHF goes into effect. After it does I'll be looking for a new scanner.

Being a vol firefighter and having a radio count? Most of the county is on the same band and there are a few departments that can't find a cheeseburger in a mcdonalds, we sit and laugh at how stupid they are sometimes. My 2way handheld is a motorola radius cp200, I forget what the pager is but it stays in my blazer most of the time.
