Default Caves

Does anyone know where any caves are in PA? the closer they are to the South East corner the better (crystal cave doesnt count). (i dont plan on off roading in the caves... I tread lightly.) and any underwater caves anyone knows of in the US?

There are no caves you can explore yourself, unless you have a death wish. I would be sure and go with at least one other person, and let someone know where you are going, and when you will return. Go prepared with the proper gear too.

There are lots of caves in the Eastern states. Here is some PA info... http://www.caves.org/conservancy/pcc/Caves_PA.html

Florida is loaded with underwater caves. Many have been mapped, many more have not. Check this site out... http://www.floridacaves.com/

Are you a certified cave diver? I am a certified OW diver, not sure if I would want to dive caves. It is very risky business.

There are still caves left to be found for sure. I would assume many would be on private property though. Years ago, people sometimes found them by accident by falling into them. Larger ones were opened to the public by the owners as a money making venture. Many of them are open today.

Check out this page. Lots of good links and photos here... http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/STONEMA.../outdoors.html
