yeah i get all the crappy jobs. or maybe they know i hate dodges i get them too. i got the trans ripped out of this thing and a dodge caravan at the moment

but i dont know where they ordered the trans from. i think i took it out 6 days ago and its still not here

ill let you know if im able to find out. they dont like telling prices up front cause "its none of my business" but heck id guess upwards of about 4-5k

by me in the country side its about 55

yeah i believe we charge 80 too. which is insane, but i guess thats the normal around here. im glad i have never had to take my trucks to a mechanic ever in my life.

but the new trans and transfercase arrived friday morning. i dont think they were brand new, look cleaned and rebuilt

 

That can happen to any vehicle. It just happened to be a Dodge this time. I have seem those things happen to Chevy & Ford also. One of the worst was a Toyota that I have seen. I own & drive a 2nd Gen Dodge 2500 QC 4x4 with a V-10 & a 5 speed. So I can feel for the guy.

 

Yup, sure can. Stuff like this doesn't help the stereotype that Dodge trucks have notoriously weak transmissions, however.

 

Luckly noone was hurt!! If he was on the highway, I wonder how many other drivers soiled themselves! But that sucks on how much its gonna cost him in the end!! I always think about the drive shaft coming off on me and stuff. (knock on wood) Ive never had to work on a drive shaft of mine.
