Default Differential covers, bigger not always better

So while cruising Youtube I came across this video by an aftermarket parts manufacturer that claims that the shape of the differential cover is important to how our rear axle bearing and differential gears are lubricated and most importantly that increased volume for more gear oil is not necessarily a good thing if the diff cover is of a poor shape.

Thoughts?

Banks is a titan of engineering prowess and his products are no joke, neither are his testing regimes. His products will probably not trickle down out of the diesel market to other markets, but his findings can definitely be extrapolated out to everywhere.

I've seen that video before, and I don't question any of his findings. In actual practice, though, I've never heard of a pinion bearing failure that could be attributed to the shape of the cover. I run aftermarket covers on both ends of my Blazer for rock protection, but they're pretty similar in shape to the originals. I wouldn't worry too much about it if they weren't, though.
