Ford Bronco

Well, Ford has upped their game with a full-sized, true body-on-frame SUV with Dana diffs in 2 and 4 door models. I'm glad to see that they have done this.

They also have a Bronco Sport. This is apparently is placed to be CUV but one with a lot more off-road capability than the RAV-4 for CRVs. The Sport model seems more akin to our S10 Blazers but without the body-on-frame ours have.

I think I'd rather have a body-on-frame SUV no matter the size but boy, the new new full-size Broncos look fun.

I hate to admit it, but I find them rather impressive. Still not buying one, but wouldn't turn down a ride 😁.

Ive been waiting for this for years..wished they would of offered 5.0 or the 3.5 ecoboost with 7 speed manual. But i got a feeling they didnt reveal everything yet

Cimmerian 07-21-2020 06:41 AM

No 5.0 and it looks ugly as sin. It's a no from me, dawg.

I'd buy one in a minute if I could afford it. My son is talking about buying one, so I can live vicariously through him if he does.

It's beginning to look like GM is turning into an 'also ran' in the truck game.

Either in the videos or from an article I read I learned that other engine options are likely on the way, but the V6 has like 300 hp so not horrible.

I very much appreciate that they have brought back a proper body-on-frame full-sized SUV. I hope the towing weight limit is at least 7500 lbs.

As nice as they are I'm not sure I'd ever buy any new vehicle if I can avoid it. We'll have to see what I need/want in 10 years. :) For now my 21 y.o. mid-sized Blazer is fitting the bill.

I've never been a huge Bronco fanboy, but I do find them cool looking in a way.

If I were in the market, I buy one before I bought a new Blazer...

GM needs to step up now, throw away that joke they called the new Blazer and make a full body on frame full size K5 throw back. THAT would be worthy of the Blazer name.

Yeah, that new "Poser" Blazer is a glorified Subaru Forester! LOL

I think I've seen maybe three of those new "Blazers" on the road since they've been released. I can't imagine they've been selling well.

I saw this the other day and thought it was pretty funny (and sad at the same time).

Cimmerian 07-23-2020 07:48 PM

Ain't that the truth...

DonL 07-23-2020 07:52 PM

I think I ran into about 5 new ones on the road... black and red compliment it... but still meh...

on the bronco side, I like how they went to the original looks, but that four door reminds me of a new land rover.

I'm sure the 4-door was included to broaden the sales potential. I'd consider it but I'm way to cheap to buy a new car! LOL

DonL 07-23-2020 08:41 PM

You get way more for your money is you go used! And if you put half as much of a new car purchase into a used car, itll be new, AND still CHEAPER then a new vehicle lol

Put it this way: I wish I could easily afford to purchase such a vehicle new but I'd still buy used. :)

I see a crap ton of the new blazers in nashville, they look good, but thats not what either of us are interested in. I heard they were going to bring out a jimmy that would be more like the blazer we have .

I'll believe that when I see it. GM/Chevy doesn't care about the SUV or offroad utility market and it's shown for the past 15 years.

Latest thing they've released that's even caught my eye is the Colorado ZR2, but I still don't think I wouldn't buy one lol

Yes, let form follow function, especially for trucks and 4x4s. :)

DonL 02-19-2021 03:07 PM

Someone in town got a bronco sport.... still not a fan, but they kept it more original, so it does look good....

rexmburns 02-24-2021 10:39 AM

I was at the Ford dealership yesterday getting my new truck and saw the sport and good I hate it lol! The wife is getting the proper Bronco but she wants to wait for the second year after they figure out the first year bugs

I am not trading in my 2000 GMC AWD/4WD Jimmy Diamond edition any time soon.. I just added a G80 locking differential. Along with the diff, new rear bearings & seals, replaced the rusty dust shields. Blasted and painted the diff cover and added a factory magnet into the diff cover. Front end: New passenger side axle bearing and seal, new Bilstein shocks, Upper and lower ball joints, New rear air shock are going on this Sat.
