Guess how much I would pay for a 99 base Blazer with no brakes. Or any Bronco.
Point being, for both
- no value for me
- dont need more stuff to fix
Nothing to do with who made it.

Thing is.. if you wanna beat the crap out of something off-road, what's to ask? Would you ask if it was a K 4x4?
Which means
1. you're worried about what your 'peers' think.
Or
2.you're braggin about getting a freebie

If it's #1.. get some sac! I'm betting it's more #2. But I'm also thinking you might be worried you like that Ford after you get used to it.
i think more of what he's asking is do we think its worth putting money into it, but of course everyone has to brag about a freebie! haha i would to.

but the bronco will take a beating and ask for more (unless you are that idiot on top gear) but if you dont take it now then you will be paying lots more later for one that is drivable over what you would have to put into this one to get it street ready.

wow i have to be honest....for a freebie that looks pretty good.
i say get that bad boy running and have some fun with it.

as far as the topic of brand loyalty...my motto is simply this...

"its my vehicle and i like how it looks."

i am not brand loyal, i buy what looks good to me.
this after growing up in a ford home...all brands have there faults like anything else.

I plan to take the bolts off and make latches so it removes its self in seconds

then go crazy with it till i have the time to put a lift on it lol

and yes pettyfogs right im afraid imma like it more then the blazer but nothing cant replace my chevy love <3

If it is a free vehicle, I'd take it. I've been working on cars for years. I have found that all brands have their good points as well as their bad points. If all it needs is brakes, that sounds like a no brainer to me. If after you get it fixed and street legal, you find you don't like it; sell it.

I always love the brand loyalty statements... My driveway is a bit confused. I have a 02 Mustang GT, 95 Jimmy, 98 Duc ST2, and the wife's 05 Saturn Ion. and In my shed I have an older 71 Norton... Never have been to loyal. if it drives and I like it and I can afford it I buy it. the brands have never done anything to be loyal to me, as they always have their moments of hatred when something goes wrong...
