Default A good CB Radio?

I was kicking around the idea of asking for a nice CB Radio for X-mas. And so i wanted to find out if anyone had an opinions on any good CB's out there. As for size and price i dont care just throw me some info. I'd like to mount the antenna out on my hood, (like a second radio antenna) i know on my dad's F-150 the antenna is mounted and comes up between the hood and the fender. So can anyone give me an idea on a good CB?

Thanks
-Luke

OK thanks for the replay, now i have another question, me and my friend are having a hell of a time trying to find a place to mount an antenna. Where do u have ur's mounted at?

EDIT:
CB Antenna Mounting I found a guy who did the exact same mount as i wanted, i want it back a little bit though, not in the middle of the hood. Does anyone know of where i can find that bracket he used, id make one myself but it looks as if it comes with a piece that the antenna goes into.

It looks like the first two here at radio shack are pretty close to what you want. I would check them out or maybe even an Auto Audio place. Click on the link below:

i've got a K30 magnet mount up on the roof in the center. works good, and the antenna removes really easily if i have to go in a parking garage, it just unscrews from the base. no cutting either, you just move the antenna up and down in the silver part that attaches to the base.

be careful with the removing and reattaching of your antenna... every time you do this you need to recalibrate and find your standing wave with a good standing wave meter... if you do not do this you can easily burn up any cb...

Been awhile since I posted. I drive a truck for a living and for the money, Cobra makes a 29LTD classic. It's one of the most dependable radios out. Cost around $89 to $100. I run a Magnum S-6 with the nitro kit. All the ***** and buttons light up LED blue. I paid $450.00 just for the radio. Between that and my kicker and antenna I've got close to $1000.00 in my setup so it can get expensive. The K-30 is a great antenna . A_tack mentioned about standard wave and is right on. A bad SWR will burn out a final in a heartbeat. Anything you need can be bought at a truckstop or a CB shop. http://www.claysradioshop.com/ This is a guy out in Texas and has been in the business for years and it just about the best in the country. Does quality work and won't rip you off

Thanks guys for the help, i think ill buy a cobra radio. I know what bracket im gonna use. I'm using a hood mount, the kind that mounts in the channel of ur hood. But as for an antenna i dont know what's good, i'd like a metal on that matches the look of the factory radio antenna. Any suggestions? Thanks

the K30 is nice because you don't have to tune the antenna each time, the antenna attaches with a set screw to the silver mount, then the mount threads on to the base. it tunes real easy this way too, my roomates got a SWR tuner and it only took about 5 minutes

most of the antennas are going to be silver and longer than your factory antenna. most cb antennas are going to be more flexible than your stock antenna too. the other thing is youve got to have a coil somewhere unless you get a fiberglass antenna. you can get a 3' fiberglass firestik antenna in black. it will be thicker than the stock antenna, but thats probably your closest match.
