Default Help me decide!!!!!!!

So for the last month or so I have been toying with the idea of selling or trading the blazer due to not having the time I used to or in the foreseeable future to really enjoy it like I used to and the thought of a more efficient DD rather than spending $200 plus a month in gas that I am now in the burban sounds really nice to me! I hate the thought of it but it makes sense for where my family needs are the present time.

That being said I have had a bunch of offers but nothing really worth serious consideration until today! I have even had a couple members here contact me saying they are sad to see it go after seeing my CL add lol!

So here is the offer I was presented today...

06 Cadillac STS
1 owner (elderly man)
49,970 miles
Clean Carfax
Always dealer serviced with records (not sure if this is a good thing lol!)
Fully service at 44k including
-all fluids
-belts
-hoses
-spark plugs
and new tires at the same time
Fully loaded with
-navigation
-factory remote start
-nice clean leather
-obviously power everything
-moon roof
Fresh VA safety and emissions inspections done in Sept

Cons
-Small scratches in rear quarter panel but no body damage so may buff out
-Needs front brake pads (not really an issue for me I think I can handle a brake job!)
-trim panel on drivers door is falling out as barely seen in photo below

I'm aware of the timing chain issues with these motors and have done a lot of reading regarding them and I have no doubt I can do the job myself for under $500 or maybe a little more depending what other items I decide to replace at the same time for piece of mind so I am taking that into consideration as well. Book value on the car is around $7-7500 and that is about what I feel my blazer is worth although I know the chances of me finding someone to actually give me that in cash is slim to none so thats why I am looking into trading.

So I need ya'll to tell me why I should or should not make this trade!

You are looking for a more family friendly car.
I know a couple people with those and they have been great cars, besides having an issue with the timing chain.

Especially the low miles, and the work that has been done and the records of the work that has been done is a plus as well.

I'm leaning towards making the trade because it fits my families needs at this time and I can always build another blazer later and do the things I wish I had done differently on the next one. We shall see!

I've heard those Cadillac's are a real **** to lift; even doing an axle swap... I'm not sure that it's worth the effort.

Seriously though, if the Blazer no longer fits your needs and lifestyle, and you're no longer getting the off-road use (that's why you built it, right?) out of it, then it does make a lot of sense to make the trade. Especially for the fuel savings as a daily-driver. It's a discussion that comes up regularly for my wife and I as well.

If your looking for a gas saver for your DD needs do what I did get a 40 mpg Cruze and save the Blazer.
