Default Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

Hey...

I`m looking into purchasing a newer vehicle (not necessarily brand new), and it seems that the off-road vehicle I like best so far is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It appears to offer a lot at an affordable price, it looks easy to modify, and I can get a 6-speed manual transmission. The only thing I`m not sure I would like is the 200-HP 3.8L V6. I`ve seen where people have dropped Chevy 350s in Jeeps, but the problem is I`d probably also have to swap out the transmission.

I`ve never owned a Chrysler and have up until recently always preferred GMs when I buy American, but GM`s failure to offer manual transmissions in their SUVs is enough of a reason for me to not buy any more. I plan to keep the Blazer until it dies, and it will continue to be my daily driver.

I just have one question: If I bought a Rubicon and wanted to upgrade the engine myself, does anybody know what choices I would have that would allow me to keep the existing transmission? I`m also asking this question at the Jeep Forum. Also, does anybody else here own a Jeep? How do you like it?

Um...yeah, I know. They offerED them in 2-Dr Blazers only. They do not currently offer them in any of their newer, comparable SUVs (Trailblazers, Envoys) OR full-sized (Tahoes, Yukons).
