Most people out there have had their doors blown off by a big bad MOPAR!!! Which reminds me that my old dodge still gets 17+ mpg. Got me thinking now, maybe i'll sell the blazer and keep the dodge.

My father has only ever owned one dodge, his friend has only ever owned dodge... There's a reason why we're driving chevy's and my dad's friend is crying a bitching about all the trips he makes to the garage because something small is broken.

Example, the tranny on the old Caravans, they'd grenade, Chrysler knew they had a problem but wouldn't cover people with the problem, a problem almost all caravans had.

That's just one example from the basket. At least GM put a recall out for the head gasket problems they had.

For 1984 the 5.2 with 2 barrel carb was getting approx 20mpg. If I end up keeping the dodge i'll be looking for a 360 crate. The 360 would be all the power I need, but I can't say that I would refuse a great deal on a 440 or an elaphant (hemi for the non mopar guys).
In truth though, unless i was offered say 35 to 3g for my s10 i wouldn't consider selling. i have too much invested in it.

well besides the floor pans rotting out because of bad vents, dodge trucks are great...My 93 blazer with the 4.3 got between 18-22 mpg depending on if I feathered it or not...my 71 d100 with a 318/3 speed consistantly gets 22-25 mpg's even if im rompin around in it, or drivin normal..of course the leather "tarp" helps a lot too..

of course as with any brand vehicle, there are exceptions. Especially when buying used. All my fords have been crap...my 88 thunderbird with the 5.0 kept poppin freeze plugs, and heater hoses constantly had to be trimmed because of holes (I was broke working for minimum wage in 2004) I also had a 1964 thunderbird. Man that car was HUGE. the engine was siezed, and I being in high school, didn't have the necessary fundage to replace or rebuild

but to each his/her own...congrats again on the purchase, and best of luck....treat her right, and she'll be there for you for years to come
