You've gotta be smart about what you buy though.
How much is a chrome plated Mirror from OEM? How much from LMC... Peanuts right? Well they had to cut the cost to produce it somewhere along those lines. Hence the shotty quality of the chrome mirror. That type of stuff I wouldn't get there.
It's like the old 96 Cavalier my family owned, we got the wheel bearing replaced with some cheap no name part store brand and 2 weeks later it was gone again... AC Delco the next time... ran for another 50K before we sold it.
My Blazer had a "brake job" done for the mechanical, I told them not to because they were perfect and they said "Oh, but the drums were seized on and we had to break them off"... I got cheap partstore **** and the damn thing didn't like stopping. I got a brake job done at the dealer last year, AC Delco, Yeah I'll admit it was expensive as hell but I have lifetime warranty on the pads now and they replaced the parts that were seized up and causing my squeaky parking brake. The truck stops on a dime too now.
IMO you can't screw up molding a plastic valence unless you're trying, or retarded, or both. I'm on the fence about these power window motors though...

i have made many purchases from LMC for my 1987 K5 Blazer.. and my 1988 Chevy C1500, and even my 2000 Silverado. and have had no complaints!!! and thats even buying there "so called thin" sheetmetal. which has fit nicely and even if it was thin, it was definately thicker then the rust i had going, a little prep work and some undercoating on the backsides of them help alot!..
but then again i have seen quarter panels delivered from them that already looked like they were in a accident, so i imagine it a hit or miss on certain things..
Classicparts is another good place to get parts and a nice in color catalog for free to boot!

As far as power window motors go, I've replaced plenty and shopped around for them. The last set (all 4 for my 94 Blazer) I bought off e-bay and paid like $23.00 each for them. Haven't had any problems so far. You really couldn't tell the difference in them and ones I have bought before. They sure looked like the OEMs that I took out. We'll see.
I wiped out my heated, electric flip up towing mirror on my 04 Dodge truck and priced it at the dealer. $420.00 + tax. I did some searching around on the web and found a place called Discount Mirrors.com. $126.00 delivered to my front door in 2 days with no tax. Identical to the OEM. In some aspects better. If it doesn't last very long I can still buy a couple more. This had a warranty on it. The stuff you usually get at dealers (not all) has a warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles. So you can't always judge stuff just because it comrs from a dealer. A lot of their parts are not even made by them but subcontracted out. Maybe I've just been lucky.

lol... My brakes I have on are sooo much better than the old ones, the warranty is a plus, I never said it meant they were quality, but it's known for a lot of things that AC Delco > aftermarket, and my brakes stopping my fully loaded Blazer (all my camping equipment, and a 600lb ATV on a snowmobile trailer) from hitting a Coyote at highway speeds is a testament to that. I would have been looking for a new grille with the old brakes.
That's good to hear, I've been in touch with the wrecking yard, and I can get all my power option parts for around 300-400 bucks, and I can pick it up so I don't pay any type of shipping. I think that's the way I'm going to go.
Certain parts (like vitals) I prefer paying the extra, everytime a friend of mine (or the few times I) cheaped out on a part, it just ended up failing not too far down the road, after putting the little bit of extra dough out and putting OEM replacement in from the dealer, the part never gave any trouble again.

After looking back through this thread I've come to the conclusion that everyone has their own opinions based on their own experiences with aftermarket products, etc. I've been buying aftermarket stuff for 35 years (yeah I'm an old codger) and have had pretty good luck with it. I guess the original question was about LMC. I'll buy stuff from them again (it's also one of the few places for Gen 1 Blazers & Jimmys [next project]). And you can buy new stuff that isn't available from the dealer. To each his own. I'm out.
