need help with door paint

Unhappy need help with door paint

i have a 03 LS 4x4 and my passenger door was repainted before purchase and the clear coat is spider webbed and just overall a bad job. not sure if 2000 count sand paper would be helpful or maybe a rubbing compound?

need help and direction please!!

if its the clear coat thats flaking it needs to be repainted and cleared...sorry for the bad news..

clear coat needs to be applyed when the paint is still tacky/wet for it to go on right ....you can try getting some cheap clear coat in a rattle can and spray it on then wet sand it but im not sure how they will look or last overtime

No, it doesn't. The solvents need to flash off before you can apply clear. That makes the paint dry to the touch pretty much. You can wait to clear it for at least 6 hours if you wanted. I don't remember actual wait time, but it's at least 6 hours max.

ok my mistake you are right it does need to flash (forgot, its been awhile since ive been in a booth lol) lol sorry jfallert for misguiding you but good catch on midnightblues part
