new xbox reveal...thoughts anyone?
 

i am surprised at the plain appearance.
the list of functions and abilities looks good.
i imagine the price is going to be sky high.

My son is a geek and goes to school for comp. They watched the release today and pretty much laughed at it. He`s more of an online computer gamer though

I am not impressed, I am a playstation and PC gamer. For being next gen... you think they could have done better. And its creepy that its always "listening" even when its off.

I am excited because of the new call of duty. Other than that I am mad that I have to buy a new system. I suppose its cool for what it does but I want a game system not another cable box.
The inner nerd in me wont let me NOT buy it so I guess I am F'd either way haha

yeah, they are def trying for the all in one package here...my problem is i want a system great for gaming not "good" at everything. i read also that its not backwards compatible (rumor has it)...so my current library of games is going to be coasters. i am sure that they will have a way for me to buy a xbox arcade version of what i already have. i have always had xbox because i love playing halo, but now that bungie is free to do multi platform i might just be a bungie follower.
on the fence for now...but leaning xbox. i guess either way i better start saving my pennies.

I will probably end up buying it but not as soon as it comes out, mostly for halo.

Im in school for my masters in comp sci as well. Looks plain but ill end up buying it for the features and the follow up to skyrim

I'm sure it will be super expensive and probably 80% of people will never use the T.V. or IE switching. I have a computer and a satellite box designed for just those things. I want an xbox for xbox gaming, nothing else.

I use my xbox for netflix and a few select games lol
