98 Ford Ranger, Feels like it is missing, and exahust smells burnt. it does not smell rich and is real doggy. I am guessing the Cat may be plugged up?
I know I said F*** but you guys are great here.

*Moved to 'The Lounge'*

Since this is not a Blazer issue, you really might do better discussing it on a Ford forum.

Thank you, I was not sure where to put it. But I think I could get better information here even though it is a ford

Well hope she makes it home, off to work. could not get onto the ranger forum.

Ok start with the standard questions, plugs, cap & rotor, plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, 02 sensor, fuel pump, other sensors perhaps? When was the last service or tune up? Start and check the easy stuff first before assuming it's something exspensive.

You guys are killin me!!! I thought I liked this sight LOL. The more I drove it today it is sounding more and more like a miss. I have a check engin light on, I will start with the code and go from there. Just thought the smell from the exahust was odd enough to go there, but I dont think so now. Sorry for F@#$ post. I know better now!!

Code read, miss on #6 and EGR fault. Found the #6 spark plug wire was arcing to the EGR tube. For the EGR I have a bad DPFE sensor, voltage was 5.0 and should have been .4 to 1.1 Thanks for pushing me to the correct place to go for Fords. The information there was just as good as here but specialized for the Ranger which is what I needed.

I am sure Ill be back for more Blazer information, I like it here.

Poor Guy he has to drive a Ranger. I feel sorry for him. I used to have a 94 Ranger. If you put a bag of trash in the back it was overloaded. No power at all. You would think for having 8 spark plugs it might have some power. But noooo it didn't and it had the worlds worst transmission in it.
