Nice truck, and that's a lot of motor under there. Should pull a few things.

I bought it to tow the camper we bought over the fall, the Blazer can do it but it was struggling a bit.

We were debating if we should go with the 5.3 that came in the Avalanche 1500 or the 8.1 in the 2500 and decided since it won't be a daily driver and we might upgrade campers later we should just go with the bigger truck.

good thinking if you ever upgrade. I towed a 10,000lb trailer with my dads f-150 75mi before and a big block under the hood would have been nice, LOL. It had plenty of power on the road, but coming out of the camp it was at there was a very steep hill and I don't think it could have got it moving in 2hi from a stop on 35" tires. 4lo, pulled it up that hill fine, then back to 2hi once I got to the road.

I don't think they make them anymore I think it was just the 02-06's. I don't think they even make the 8.1 anymore period.
