BOOM! lol, don't you love instant Karma? Similar thing happened to me this year on the way home from school in a white out blizard, Civic ended up sliding through a red light and plowing into the side of a GMC Sierra, he was doing about 35mph (I think, my conversions are usually off by a couple) I was maybe doing 15-20 in 4x4 taking my time flowing with the traffic in the slow lane. However I've been known to give-r when I'm late for school and risk doing the speed limit. Sraight stretch + 4x4 + winter tires = overconfidence IMO, I"ve been lucky so far though, havn't gotten into any sticky situations but I'm tempting fate when I do.

Stevo, you guys should sue the other driver for damages and what not while you're at it... I garauntee you'll win, the fact he/she was on the cell phone definitely won't win them any sympathy, seeing people on cell phones talking with their hands just makes me want to kill.

Default kids...

[QUOTE=oktain;222209]I've said what I had to say about punks thinking they're big in their little rice-burners... It's something about the smaller car crowd, they have to prove they're better than the larger vehicles lol.

We have a lot of those punks close to where I live. And what you said makes total sense. So you went and spent a bunch of your parents hard earned money on your stock Chevy cobalt. Good for you! Not everyone wants to race you, I like not putting gas in my car everyday!

Similar note: When I first bought my blazer, I wasn't at all used to a rear wheel drive vehicle. I stepped on the gas to get out of a very bad intersection and ended up with a little less tread on my tires. People must have thought I was trying to be "cool" where in fact I just needed a lesson on driving a rear wheel drive suv.

I love how this thread pops up to the top every so often.

One pattern that I've noticed with the "budget tuner" scene is they'll make these cars all flashy, then replace the muffler with a fart-cannon that sounds like my lawn-mower and expect it to go fast. IMO if you're building a ricer, there should be a list of priorities:
1. engine tweaks
2. nice rim/tire combo
3. Interior mods
4. Body kit if you have the GO to match the SHOW and a car that warrants it. There's nothing worse than seeing a 90's camaro with a flamboyant body kit with the "I'm going to eat you" front bumper. If you're rolling in a 300+hp Supra, then by all means do something tasteful. When people turn their heads, they're not always admiring your car, ask yourself if they're laughing at you for looking so ridiculous.
5. And should not be left out... matching body panels! There's nothing worse than a yellow car with mustard body-kit parts... You shouldn't even be out in public if your body kit is still primer coloured. People understand if the entire car looks prepped for a paint job in the coming week but daamn.

hmmm... that feels better.

btw, I'm looking at a 1993 240SX with a Silvia front clip currently, 300+hp with 18-20psi of boost. If I do buy it, it'll be painted black with tinted windows and a nice set of gun-metal coloured wheels. That's my idea of a ricer... One that sleeps til you romp on it.

The guy sold the 240...

But anyway, I was following this one guy and he was all over the place, almost like he was drunk. I get up next to him (dumb idea) and realize he's on the phone, then he starts wandering into my lane. I moved over as close to the centre line as possible without actually going into the oncoming lane thinking he was going to correct. Well when he was a foot or so away from me I gave him a shot of the horn, he dropped his phone and reefed on the steering wheel lol, the look of shock on his face was the priceless part.

I don't know if he was changing lanes without checking, but I definitely wasn't in his blind spot, I was right next to him... my front bumper was ~even with the hub of his front wheel.
