haha i just giggled when you said some women love stick shifts....
reminds me of that one joke, why are boys faster than girls....
I think the reason why the majority of people dont drive stick is because
a) they never learnt
b) they cant handle merging, how the hell are they going to even attempt this while they have to co-ordinate a clutch and gears.

Yeah I re-read that after ansd was like "hmm the guys will get a kick out of that." I agree though and people can't talk on the phone or do their make-up or whatever as well having to manage shifting gears.

When it comes to American built vehicles (4x4) all we get here are:
Dodge Journey & Nitro
Jeep Cherokee & Grand Cherokee, Commander, Patriot & Wrangler
My old Grand Cherokee ('99) was built in Austria at the Chrysler plant so not sure if you want to count that as American. LOL
These vehicle are factory represented dealerships. Anything else is an import.

^missed my standard...
so i broke my hand, drove my standard home with one hand & manual steering, then decided to drive back to the hospital. lol
Now a days it gets so hard to figure out what exactly are an american or candian built car, with so many parts outsourced. foreign companies building cars here, etc.
Just a whole mess of globalization.

Yea that is true, i noticed the Camaro is assembled in Canada, which kind of made me sad. Not because I don't like Canada, but because the new Camaro is like an American icon car. But I heard Oshawa is one of GM's highest quality plants.
What I could never understand was cars like Pontiac Grand Prix, that eventually did not even offer manual. A company that prided itself on enthusiast cars. That disopointed me. Any car with an SS badge or Sport should offer a manual, otherwise to me its just a fast car that any person can drive with no talent. Ferrari's with automatic imho is almost defeating the purpose. Why not just get a Bentley? Or the Cruze/new Focus/Compass offer manual, but not in the higher level trims. Why? Or 2 door blazers had manuals, but not 4 doors, why wouldn't they offer it to all models?
Sorry to vent, I guess I just don't understand why some of these decisions are made.
