Got a knock on my door this morning. It's my neighbor, she's crying... She says, I'm sorry I ran into your nice new truck.

She backed out of her driveway, and punched it cuz she was late for a meeting. She was driving into the bright morning sun and didn't scrape her windows. Drove right into the back of my truck parked.

Her cars front end is destroyed. My estimate from the father in-laws shop was 3055.50... Hers is going to be at least 5000.00. She has insurance.

I didn't get mad, told her its ok, accidents happen and they are only cars, at least it wasn't a child playing, they can be fixed... She calmed down. I told her to go do whatever she had to do and we could go to the police station when she's done.

Here's what it looks like.

Broken taillamp. Bent tailgate. Bent bumper. Bent rear quarter panel.

I'm going to try and pull the video off my security camera system

I try to not park in the line of somebody backing out of their driveway because I have seen it happen a couple time

Guy was trying to back out of his driveway and kept getting hung up in the snow
Punched and rammed my nephews car so hard he slid it sideways into the curb

 

I live 2 doors down. She backed out. Stopped, scraped the drivers side of the window, got in, and punched it. 30ft later she rammed me

The videos are on my camera, just don't know how to access the DVR through my network. Trying to figure it out.

 

That could have got her a careless driving charge for not clearing all the windows before leaving if you would have called out the police out
A local guy just got dinged for that after running down an entire fence after driving with frosted up windows

 

Nah I don't want her to get trouble. She's cool, our kids play together and we get along. Her insurance will fix it and life will go on.

 

I get along with all my neighbors wouldnt try to cause them any grief

People just dont realize the reality of not clearing the snow or frost from their cars
