Angry Serpentine belt squeak - 70 monte carlo :) but it relates to K5 blazer - w/ photos

I bought a used engine from a fullsize blazer, 350TBI , I believe it was from 1994 and now it resides in my 70 monte carlo so at least part of the blazer lives on

I have a bad serpentine squeak though and for the life of me I cannot figure it out

- I Removed AC - ac delete pulley was used from rockauto.com
- new tensioner - from autozone
- new alternator
- rest should be stock as far as I can tell, I don't think I mis-matched any of my old pulleys to this new serpentine (like water pump etc..)

Any ideas? The belt squeaks lighty at idle , few chirps here and there, but as rpms increase the squeak gets worse and worse

all bearings are double roller/sealed , even so I lubed up everything with automotive grease and nothing helps.

The pulleys seem to be all lined up as far as I can tell with a straight-edge

I would greatly appreciate any help, maybe it's a common thing with these setups? maybe someone has actual measurements of their pulleys or wouldn't mind doing that for me?

here are some photos of the setup, with old tensioner that had a bad bearing to new tensioner and I'll ***** one of the car itself

btw I've taken a metal brush to the pulleys when car runs to clean them up + brake cleaner as well

I've tried belt dressing , it made it MUCH worse so I washed all of it off

some of the pulleys, tensioner + idler had some rubber caked on from the belt, I scrubbed it off and cleaned them

I'm thinking the tensioner may be too tight since it's brand new? but that seems unlikely

Measure your belt, or just take it up to the parts store, find a belt 1" or 2" shorter, bam! squeak gone.

what i do is take a wire brush withe the engine running and clean both sides of the belt and it usually takes away any noise

make sure your power steering pulley is pressed on all the way. it almost looks like it pulled out a hair. i did the same crap last time i installed one. got it done at 9 at night and swore it was on all the way, truck squealed like crazy, tried new belt same thing. i threw some tools went in, next morning when i had light i seen the mistake, pressed it down a hair more and it was fine. basically that middle part of the pulley should be flush with the outer part

aha! Bet that's the problem. I used to know that.

Also a bracket slightly out of alignment would do the same thing. If you take a brush or sanding pad to the edge -only- of the belt and it stops, voila!

thanks guys , that PS pulley does look a bit off so I will check that first

and sanding the edge of a belt off is a pretty damn good idea too, lol

I might as well give the 1" longer belt a shot as well!

and you know, it almost makes sense too, there's fine black dust on fins of the alternator as if the belt is rubbing there (even when I clean it and drive for 20 miles it's back) which could be because next pulley down is dragging the belt off-center a bit (PS pulley)

I think you guys may have figured this out and it's been driving me nuts for weeks

It definitely looks like the power steering pulley is sitting out on the shaft. It takes a special puller & installer to get it right without damaging things. You may have to take it off first, clean up what rust there is in the bore & on the shaft, then reinstall it.

BTW, I've relinked your photos. Those are HUGE, even on my high def monitor...
