Default Swap 4.3l in my 2000 2 door automatic trans.

Okay recently blew my motor up in my 2000 Chevy Blazer has the 4.3 liter V6 two wheel drive so I went out and found a four-door 2000 Chevy Blazer 2 wheel drive also but it has the 5 speed manual transmission I'm no mechanic by no means and I'm having a hard time in this motor swap what do I need to expect do I have to change the flywheel and clutch assembly please help

Welcome 2 the Blazer Forum... I have never done an engine swap myself so I can't help any... There are a ton of folks on here that should be able 2 wa;k you through it though, this website ia super active with great people

Just remove the flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch disk from the new engine and install your auto trans flex plate from the old engine onto the crankshaft. Also carefully compare the oil pans as the 4L60e automatic trans uses a couple of bolts that also goes through the oil pan (I don't personally know if the manual trans bellhousing does the same), and switch oil pans on the new engine if there is any difference.

Any ways - your manual trans engine will end up working just fine in the auto trans vehicle.

Thanks for ur comments I had no idea I needed to do hat,but made perfect since...so I did just thst, flywheel and torque converter came off the old engine anent on the new motor just fine...so anyone have any advice on how I need to go about dropping the new motor in....first off letme say I doing this completely by myself can seem to geany of these lzzy *** people I know to help...second I'm doin g this out ithe opened yard in a gravel driveway...I'm using a motor host but we all know that it's hard to move in the gravel...what I did was putdown blanddex pywood enought that the host would t on,pulled tale motor then rolled the blazer out from under it...

Can work like this but in a gravel driveway it's a PIT...A.

Removing the radiator and pulling the distributor will assist in not braking vital parts and gets you the room to either put the engine in from above, move it forward, then fix the tranny from below and bolt it together, then push both backwards to fix the trans mounts and the engine mounts. Or depending on the hoist put it together before and lower it in with the transmission.

I'd make sure I had a party tent or some roofing at least when working in the open.

Just want to make sure you put the torque converter into the transmission and engage the pump (pops in twice when turning the converter), when joining the engine to the trans. You can't just bolt the torque converter to the flex plate and crank - and put together. When the engine is bolted to the trans, the torque converter should still move forward to the flex plate - if not the pump is not engaged with the torque converter yet.

To get the old engine out of a 2WD....... Once you have disconnected the exhaust from the manifolds, I would remove the transmission, fuel line clamp, and ground straps on the back of heads first (distributor out of course). Difficult to get at the bellhousing,clamp, and strap bolts without lowering the back of the transmission to expose them. (Leaving the trans in place on a Blazer can be quite difficult - on 2WD it's just not worth it IMHO). Taking steering shaft loose from steering box can help with room to maneuver.
