Default Swifter Wetjet Broken Handle-Repair

I recently purchased a Swifter Wetjet and the handle broke after a couple of weeks. I figured that the handle was a weak point so replacing the handle with a factory replacement would not last very long. I decided to see if I could make my own handle that would be more robust. I purchased a 3/4 inch 45 degree PVC Conduit piece, door bell button and a 13/16 inch spade bit. The inside diameter of the PVC Conduit needed to be enlarged to 13/16 inch to fit over the wetjet pipe. I removed the broken handle from the wetjet, cut the switch off of the handle, fitted the PVC Conduit over the wetjet, drilled a hole for the door bell button, connected the wires to the door bell button and installed the door bell into the PVC Conduit than plugged the end of the PVC conduit with a wood plug. The PVC fit very tight over the wetjet so no fasteners of any sort was needed. The wetjet works perfectly and I do not believe the PVC handle will ever break again. Attached are pics of my repair. After my handle broke I searched the internet and found that the handle breaking is a very common complaint.

I first fixed the handle with two hose clamps but than the whole handle broke off at the top of the mop pipe. So I had to do something else besides clamping or duct tape.
