Thumbs up For Those on a Budget **Must Read**

I thought I would share a major find.
This is awesome for everyone, especially for those on a budget.

Alot of people like to repair their own vehicles themselves to save money.
Cut the costs of labor & fee's.
But what about the parts themselves?
We're all used to the usual part stores...

AutoZone
Advance Auto
NAPA
O'Reilly

I've personally been everywhere like most people looking for the best deals.
Every part store is usually close too or the same price give or take 10%-20%.
I'd like to share a major find in detail.
I hope this helps everyone!!!

I'll start by sharing what I've already bought for my money pit...

My approx. total: $235.41 - Mail Order (RockAuto)
(Not including the B&H part)

I hope this gives everyone a slight idea of the savings.
Nice perk to RockAuto... No sales tax!!!
Only con... All parts are mail order. Have patients.

My next project is replacing every brake part, piece by piece.
I'll give a detailed savings list on that too.

just make sure you are comparing apples to apples brand wise
there are tons of cheaper parts that I tend to avoid

The down fall of rock for me is mail order
I usually need the parts yesterday LOL

rexazz2,
if you noticed next to the item description,
I put the name brand.
I buy only what I know to be good,
plus I tend to trust those brands that don't fail.
Every part I use is name brand or proven to be good quality.

I've bought lots from rockauto too. Even shipping to Canada is cheaper than my local Napa.

I don't understand how they can sell parts so cheap. I pay jobber prices at the local parts stores, but RockAuto is still cheaper even after shipping across the continent! Maybe we've(I've) been brainwashed into thinking we(I) get a "good deal" locally.

Edit: Thanks PhilBilly for the insight!

I use RockAuto as much as I can. My problem is it seems when I need multiply different parts the shipping get too crazy. A part from this warehouse & another from this one ETC. & then you pay full freight from each instead of freight & an addition for multiply parts because of weight or whatever. So when the shipping becomes as much or more than the parts then I head to my local parts house to save money.

^This. I've spent hours trying to tweak orders around, change brands, etc, to try and get everything to ship from the same location. This is the only bad side to Rock Auto.

And, like rexazz2 said, I usually need the parts NOW! lol

But, if you have the liberty of waiting 2-4 days, they are almost always a great deal!
