Default Tires saved me

Last night we got hit with some winter weather, lots of snow and high winds
Tonight I left work and everyone was using the left lane and struggling to get moving , the right lane was drifted in probably close to 12" deep

Impulse strikes , push the button and head into the deep snow
About 3/4 the way threw OH OH , its much deeper and I am losing momentum
Getting the oh crap I am screwed feeling because I am pushing snow with the front bumper
I just tried driving around about 10 guys stuck in the lane beside me, there is no way any one is going to help me
Put my foot a little harder into it and I can feel it pulling harder
Woohoo I mad it threw
I know I would never had heard the end of it from my coworkers if I got stuck
I know had I not had a good set of tires I would be eating a lot of crow tomorrow

Yep, good tires are important. I don't like the huge wheel, skinny rubber look. I like nice meaty tires on my equipment.

I have these, and I have to put it in 4x4 quite often. Even get stuck from time to time.

When I ordered them the guy asked me if I was sure I wanted something that aggressive LOL
Some lift would have helped I am sure

I think all of your tires are better on a snowy road than my KM2s, they are like strapping on skates when it snows. Luckily we rarely get snow, or they'd be gone.

I was considering BFG All Terrain TA's but the price was a lot more
My brother runs them on his F150 as his "snow tire"
he says they work well

I had a set of BFG ATs and they were great in the snow. Not as good as a true snow tire, but a great choice if you want to run a tire year round and snow capability is a big deal.

I've had BFG AT's on 4 different rigs now. They're real good in the snow as long as they have ~50% or more tread... after that they start to slide around a lot in light snow on pavement.

That being said my 285/75's just recently got me through 20" of snow we got over the weekend without any trouble. Even had some fun on some unmaintained dirt roads...left it in 2wd purposely do a little winter drifting. Where i live is has tons on hills, and interesting roads so things can get tricky quick if you don't have the right vehicle/tires.
