when cars were cars.................
so i had an interesting email the other day, and seeing some of the pic's brought back quite a few memories of days gone by.
before any of you smart-"guys" start in on it, no i wasn't around for those days, but i do remember riding (racing) around in quite a few of these rides. http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...werecars04.jpg http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...werecars06.jpg http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...werecars12.jpg that's just a sample of the album i created on my bucket. just CLICKY HERE for a view of when Detroit iron mattered. I do miss the old style of cars..A lot of the new cars are cookie cutters.

"When cool was measured in Cubic inches"
I think that's my favourite. |

EDIT: My fav ishttp://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...werecars16.jpg I tease my dad about his hair all the time. Even tho I'm 21 and starting lol |

As much as I love the old Detriot iron, I must admit that the "muscle car" of the last 10+ years are much better in almost every respect. Power, milage, safety, emissions, comfort. Style would be the most obvious area where old school still shines.
BTW, I loved them all! Your pics/caption thingies, not all of the old muscle. Was never a big fan of many of the Mopars. |
The first car I ever owned was 70 Chevelle with a big block. Boy did I have a lot of fun in that car.

My dad has ever owned 1 MOPAR... it was a dodge dart and that was the last one... biggest POS he ever drove.
Being the son of an anti-mopar man I myself havn't like anything built by dodge newer than 73... only now are they starting to gain some of my attention. |
Try working on Dodges......sheesh I was doing transmissions weekly. I did nothing but the caravan.
My fav is a Ram 2500 w/ the cummins with the NEW mercedes tranny in it. :) |

I still use this measurement. I always ask what the CI of my engines are. Its easier for me to understand the size and power of the motor this way. |

alot of the new dodges are so crappy build. the dodge chargers have the flimsiest garbage front ends i have ever seen on cars. everything goes bad around 60k. my 90 chevy pick up with 180,000 has original everything up front. changed the pitman and idler last year due to a hair of play but ball joints, and tie rods all original |
