10 years ago tonight was the huge hydro black out that affected much of the US and Canada

I had just left work and had a chiropractor appointment , was going to do some banking and go out for dinner
I ended the night sitting on the steps outside our apartment speaking to neigbours that I only ever said hi to in passing

 

i was still in high school.....i dont remember a black out though. of course im down in so cal so that might be why.

 

The blackout was big news! I'm gunna be honest, I have trouble remembering what(or if) I had for dinner last night...

 

i was 12 lol...i remember i was down in NC at my grandparents house i couldnt believe it. what caused that again?

 

they blame it on a tree branch in Ohio

 

I had just graduated high school and I was probably riding my motorcycle or working.

 

that was 10 years ago? could've sworn it more recent than that, i was barely entering high school

 

Man most of you guys are young pupsLOL I was staying at a big huge apartment complex at the time.It was hot no power no fans no air,so me and mrs went to the big river a couple of miles where we lived and fished.We caught walleye and cooked them on the grill for dinners.I had bags of fish that were frozen in water so it kept everything in the freezer cold.We bought dry ice for the fridge to keep things cold in there.We basicaly just made out as a 3 day camping experience and had lots of fun.

 

I was 20 and I dont recall this happening.

 

I was living in a small apartment in Seattle. I had a girlfriend who lived about an hour away from me and she had come up to the city to visit me. I was watching the news and following what was happening with the blackout. It was a fascinating thing to watch.
