Default Z85

So I did a bit of research and found out that not all blazers are created equal..... some came with a Z85 suspension package..... Upon more research, I found that the Z85 is basically a compact Z71 without the skid plates. . . . . My blazer has it, who else has it?..... to find out look on your RPO code list in the glove box for code Z85.... I'd kinda like to know...lol

thanks jigg... I was trying to find a description..... is it possible to have heavy duty and off road suspension??? because I have the rpo code for z85 in my glovebox...but under the truck I have the bilsten gas shocks, larger torsion bars than my buddy's blazer, hd springs, the bumpers and such...... i dunno...lol this truck confuses me..... because its the bigger wheel base.. but I definitely have different heavier duty suspension than my buddy's 2000 4 door 4x4...lol

I suppose it could've been special ordered, but i don't think i've ever seen a 4dr ZM6. I know my brother's 4dr blazer is a Z85 and his didn't come with bilsteins.

I'd check in your glovebox and see what it says.

How'd you measure the torsion bars to find that they're larger than your friend's blazer? If he's got the Z83, that might include softer springs and whatnot... i really have no idea.

Wow, bringing up an old thread here, but just like a_tack, I have a 2001 LT 4x4 4-door with Z85 code, but it also has the Bilsteins and HD suspension as well. As I checked further into my other RPO's, I found Z82 code which are "Trailer Provisions, Special Equipment, Heavy Duty", I wonder if this package included the same features as the ZM6 but called it a Z82 code as a "trailer package" rather than a "off-road" package for the 4-door LT models? What do you guys think?
