the marine intake has a larger throttle body, a little higher rise & has actual fuel injectors. Not the spider system a regular vortech has. Much higher flow rate & easily replacable injectors. I needed them for the supercharger because the air/fuel ratio was low. It was leaning out at 4200rpm. The marine intake solved that. You can find them in ebay, online in google etc. In S10 forum Scott has a write up about the few mods you'll have to make, fuel lines, wiring, throttle body linkage etc.

Hey, what is the benefit of putting on a marine intake? Also, where'd you get one? Pull one from a merc?

But after the experience with guys at Autozone I am more confident. So I am gonna post replies if I am at least 90% sure Im right. I check out dans site but it doesn't have any pics or info on wether he hasn't installed. Just how'd you find out that it was leaning out at 4200? Did you dyno tune it?

Hey Mike, the marine intake usually comes with either 33 lb/h or 36 lb/h Bosch injectors - REAL fuel injectors. A spyder assembly is just that, a spyder - fuel injector hooked up to 6 tubes with an electric poppit valve at the end. They work pretty much the same way a diesel set up does. Als spyder does make up for the loss of fuel that's needed to keep the air/fuel mixture with the s/c. I know mine leaned out at 4200rpm before I put the marine intake in & that's a bad thing to have lol.
A marine intake is a little taller which should help air flow, has real, easily servicable injectors & looks cool. Als 36 lb/h spyder should be fine, ask Blazer Forum - Chevy Blazer Forums - View Profile: zr2dan he has Als set up with the spyder assy.
Keep in mind that you'd have to measure the stock height & the marine intake height - I have a 3" BL so hood clearence wasn't a concern.
