Default 12v motor on my smog pump?

hi im new here just a quick ?
i live in Ca and have a smog pump on my 87 blazer whould i be able to hook it up to a 12v motor to run it? or dose it have to change speed like it whould with the rpm of the engin ? i need to know so i can pass smog and none of my pullys line up with the pump to run a belt to it i just need it to pass smog test then im deleateing it for the time till i have to test agin so would a 12v motor work or no? thanks any advice whould be cool.
